Verona Lood Obituary

VERONA RUTH (SWANSON) LOOD, 91 ROCKFORD - Verona Ruth (Swanson) Lood, 91, of Rockford, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. Verona was born July 11, 1921, in Chicago, daughter of Oscar and Elsie Swanson. United in marriage to Roland Lood on Sept. 16, 1944, at Philadelphia Church in Chicago. When she moved to Rockford, she became a member of Rockford First Assembly. Survived by brother, Cecil (Jeanette) Swanson; children, Brent (Linda) of Sleepy Hollow and Sherryl (Per) Anderas of Green Bay, Wis.; daughter-in-law, Karin Lood of California; grandchildren, Bjorn Lood, Brett Lood, Kristina (Bryan) Gritton, Brian (Sandra) Lood, Braden Lood, Phillip (Lisa) Anderas, Lars Anderas, Charles Anderas and Corrine (Jesse) Poole; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Roland Lood; son, Bruce Lood; and sister, Geraldine Hulttgren. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she spent her life serving her church, family and friends. Service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, at Rockford First, 5950 Mulford Rd., Rockford, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to time of service; Fr. Phillip Anderas will officiate.
