William Klentz

WILLIAM KLENTZ, 86 LOVES PARK - William Klentz, 86, of Loves Park died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born Jan. 3, 1922, in Freeport, the son of William C. and Harriet E. (Rosekrans) Klentz. William proudly served his country with the U.S. Army. He was a World War II veteran and served in Europe for three years. He received the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service in 1945. He graduated from East High School. William worked at Rockford Screw Products and was the color lab manager at Rockford Photo Finishing. He enjoyed woodworking, electronics and computers. Member of the Rockford A's Model A Club. Survivors include wife of 60 years, Shirley Klentz; children, Christine (Bob) Manring, Scott (Carol) Klentz, Steven Klentz; grandchildren, Joshua and Ryan Manring and Sarah Klentz; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; and sister, Connie. Service at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, with visitation from 1 p.m. to time of service; the Rev. Dr. William Richard Kerr Sr., will officiate. Private burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
