Charolyn Proffitt Obituary

Charolyn "Punky" Proffitt, 66, passed away on November 25, 2015 in Ruidoso.

Punky was blessed with a large and loving family. She was the first born child to Charles and Shirley Word in El Paso, Texas. She loved going to the movies with her grandchildren, trying new make-up, eating catfish with her brother, and watching TV. Punky made the world a better place. Through her actions, she taught us about love, courage, and devotion.

Punky left behind her beloved dog, Brinx; daughter and son-in-law, Christy "Shae" and Steven Morehead; mother Shirley Cornelius; brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Dorothy Word; brother, Chip Word; sister and brother-in-law, Cindi and Keith Kainer; brother, Richard Word; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Becky Hale; grandchildren, Stormie, Bailey, Ethan, Logan, Hannah, and Brooklyn; great-grandchildren, Lexi and Hagean and many nieces and nephews.

Punky was reunited in Heaven with her daughter, Shanyn; son, Jon Bryan; father, Charles Word; and step-father, Carl Cornelius.

A private memorial will take place with family and friends.
