BUDDY MILLER Obituary

BUDDY WAYNE MILLER Buddy Wayne Miller, age 78, of Winters, ran and jumped into the arms of Jesus on Feb 17th, 2025, after a courageous journey with Parkinson's Disease. Born on January 7, 1947, in Winters, Texas, to Wayne and Roxie Ann Miller (Robbins), Buddy spent his formative years in the Content community, nestled in Northeast Runnels County. A proud 1967 graduate of Jim Ned High School, he embarked on a beautiful life journey when he married his beloved Garlinda Jo Miller on July 28, 1967, at Southside Baptist Church in Winters. A devoted veteran, Buddy answered the call of duty in the U.S. Army and served with honor during the Vietnam War. His commitment to his community shone brightly through his years with the Winters Volunteer Fire Department and his service on the Winters City Council. While he cherished his long-standing membership at First Baptist Church of Winters, he often found joy in attending New Beginnings Church, where his wife played the piano. Buddy's love for his family was profound and unwavering. He was not only their strength and protector, but also the heart of every family gathering, showcasing his culinary talents and ensuring everyone felt cherished. In times of need, he was the steady rock that brought comfort and support. His generous spirit extended beyond his family. As a manager in various grocery stores, Buddy opened doors for countless teenagers, providing them with their first jobs. He also reached out to underprivileged kids, ensuring they had opportunities to thrive. His compassion for those in need was evident as he regularly checked in on widows in the community, bringing companionship and kindness to their lives. Family holidays were often marked by his thoughtful gestures, as he would pack meals to share with those who needed a little extra love. Buddy leaves behind his devoted wife of nearly 58 years, Garlinda Jo Miller of Winters; his brother, Marvin; his two sons and daughters-in-law, Buddy J. (Nan) of Winters and Jeff (Michelle) of Abilene; and his seven cherished grandchildren-Laurie, Bryce, Sadie, Ashton, Colton, Karmen, and Zayne. He is reunited in spirit with his father, Wayne Miller; mother, Roxie Ann Miller (Robbins); stepmother, Martha Jane Miller (Horton); and half-brother, James Pruitt. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Winters children's meal program or the Winters Volunteer Fire Department, honoring Buddy's legacy of love and service to others. The Miller family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at North Runnels Hospital as well as NRH Home Health.
