Andrew Laramie Obituary

CASTLETON - Andrew Frederick Laramie, 26, of Castleton, died Saturday, March 19, 2016.
Andrew was born on May 8, 1989 in Rutland, Vermont.
Andrew grew up in Castleton, Vermont. He attended the school in Castleton and Fair Haven. He graduated from the Fair Haven Union High School in 2008. He was active on the soccer and golf teams. He was also a member of the National Honor Society.
In 2012, he graduated from the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences at the University of Vermont. He was employed by Enman Engineering in Rutland, Vermont, working towards his PE as a civil engineer.
Andrew enjoyed anything outdoors and was always in search of an adventure. He loved to ski, ride motorcycle, golf, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with his friends. Andrew was an extremely happy young man with an infectious smile.
He poured his heart into everything that he did, from work to play. His favorite pastime was snowboarding and telemark skiing. Starting at a very young age, with his parents, he fell in love with the mountains. He had season passes to Killington, Sugarbush and Stowe. He followed his passion to Utah and recently to Colorado. Andrews joy of life will continue through his large circle of friends, who loved him as much as he loved them.
Survivors include his mother, Libby Laramie, and companion, Stephen Reilly; his father, Frederick Laramie, and his wife, Kathy; a brother, Devin Laramie, all of Castleton; a stepsister, Alyssa Dempsey of New York City; his maternal grandparents Kent and Margaret Johnson of Pawling, N.Y.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Charles and Jane Laramie.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Durfee Funeral Home, 119 North Main Street, Fair Haven, VT.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2016, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Castleton, VT.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Green Mountain Club, 4711 Waterbury-Stowe Road, Waterbury Center, VT 05677, or www.greenmountainclub.org.
