John Killary Obituary
The Rev. Thomas Houle, pastor of St. Peter Church, officiated.
Remembrances were shared by family and friends.
Bearers were Chelsea and Josh Fitzgerald, Ryan Fortin, Heather, Ben, Kyle and Sandy Killary, all grandchildren.
Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Military honors were provided by American Legion Post #39 of Poultney and American Legion Post #31 in Rutland. Richard White presented the flag. Steve Kipp sounded taps.

I had the pleasure of meeting John when I performed with the Castlton university jazz band last December at the Maples. He introduced himself and we had a wonderful chat about being a drummer and big band music. A brief visit with a wonderful man that left a lasting impression on me. My most sincere condolences to his family and friends. May you rest in peace.

Dear Kathleen and Family: I met John in 1995 when my family purchased his home on Bellevue Avenue. My sons were only 8 and 6 years old. He was very kind to us and said he wanted a family to purchase the home who would love it and care for it and we have. My sons grew up in the house and we have even shared it with the public during our annual haunted house and Holiday parties. We have taken good care of your family home John and will continue to do so. I will be forever grateful that he chose us to make his home our own. Sending love and condolences to his family.
