Warren McIntyre Obituary
He worked for Milt Rockwell, Mack Molding, The Hale Company and the Danby Quarry. He worked as a custodian for Currier Elementary School for 20 years, and prior to that for Manchester Elementary and Middle School.
He was a U.S. veteran of the Korean Conflict, a life member of American Legion Post 69 in Arlington, and the Fraternal Order of Eagle in Manchester. He was a former member of the East Dorset Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as assistant chief, and was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Manchester.
He enjoyed taking cruises, deer hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors include a son, Warren J. McIntyre, Jr. of East Dorset; a daughter, Diane Tobin of East Rupert; a brother Wilbur "Bus" McIntyre of Cossayuna, N.Y.; three sisters, Geraldine Towsley of East Dorset, Minerva Baker of Clarendon and Marion Baird of East Dorset; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and his former wife Beth McIntyre of Melbourne, Fla. He was preceded in death by his daughter Cindy McIntyre-King, his brother Wilfred "Gus" McIntyre, and his sister Clara Ricard.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Scottsville-Danby Cemetery. A reception will follow at the East Dorset Fire House.
There are no visiting hours.
