Al Corfee Obituary

Allen Willard Corfee "Al", 87, formerly of Sacramento and El Macero passed away December 9th, 2018. Al (Pictured with his father Fred Sr.) was born at Sutter Hospital in Sacramento on June 18, 1931. He graduated from Sacramento High in 1950. He was an Eagle Scout with Sacramento Troop #1. He was an accomplished skier competing nationally as a young man. He served in Korea in the US Coast Guard during the Korean War. He was the President of the family business, Corfee's Laundry and Dry Cleaning and greatly enjoyed being part of the Sacramento business community. He was past President of the Sacramento 20/30 Club No. 1 and past President of the California Laundry and Dry Cleaning Association. He also served on the California Governor's Business Advisory Board. Al was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He was a kind person and taught his children to respect hard work and above all to respect those who are not as fortunate as you. He was an avid skier, fly fisherman, duck hunter (H-Pond and Bull Sprig Outing) and golfer. He was an enthusiastic sports fan and enjoyed playing cards with his closest friends. He was a thick and thin fan of the San Francisco 49ers, SF Giants and Sacramento Kings. Al and his wife Barbara enjoyed enduring friendships from their early years in Sacramento and El Macero where they moved to in 1966 and belonged to the Country Club for over 25 years. Al was also a devoted member of AA for over 20 years, which allowed many more meaningful friendships and a longer and fuller life. Al and Barbara have been residents of the California Veterans Home in Yountville for the last two years. Recently, he received wonderful care at the Kentfield Rehabilitation Hospital, California Veterans Home and Hospice. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Alida Corfee, his sister Barbara Jeanne Lemcke, and his brother Fred Jr. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Barbara Corfee and their children Bartley Corfee (Toni), Jan Corfee-Morlot (Jean Louis Morlot), Karin Corfee and Daniel Corfee (Alison) and 9 grand-children, Brenden and Katelyn Corfee (Bart & Toni), Martin and Emilie Morlot (Jan & Jean Louis), Kirstin, Julia (Scott Lyman) & Ryan Auker (Karin Corfee & Todd Auker), Ben & Elizabeth Corfee (Dan & Alison). A celebration of life for Al will be held on January 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at El Macero Country Club. The Family requests that any remembrances be sent to Hospice by the Bay (Larkspur, Ca.) or Ducks Unlimited.

Our prayers are with you. I always enjoyed spending time with Al at the meetings. He always had just the greatest sense of humor and also a very wise man. He was always so proud when talking about his family. Al will be missed dearly.
