I have just been connected with an old friend who which we use to work with alan. I worked with alan for 4 years, I was his nursing assistant. I am shocked of the news and very sadden. This is true his family was always first, and he would have done anything if it even meant to be late or reschedule patients. He will be missed and his family is in our hearts and prayers.

I am so sadden by the lost of Dr. Cabrera. He was a good friend of mine and we shared a lot of conversations about family, Dogs etc. he loved his Mastiff.
It's been my privilege to know him. I have taken care of a lot of his patients over the years and they had nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Cabrera. He was a glorious hero to man kind.
There will always be a void in my life because of his passing. My condolences goes out to his family, especially his wife and children. They were the center of his world.
I loved Dr. Cabrera.

Dear Cabrera Family - I recall the first day Dr Cabrera came into the ICU at ARH in 1985. What a wonderful, kind and compassionate man! To the Alan Cabrera Family, With my deepest sympathy to all of you, the family he loved so much. Dr. Cabrera was an exraordinary physician with a wonderful personality who cared for his patients in a way not seen by many physicians today. He was a good old fashioned doctor. His passing is also a loss to his patients who depended on him for their lives and quality of life. He gave so much to so many during the years he was given. May his reward in heaven be great and may you, his family find peace with the passing of time and the memories he has left you. Sharing in your sorrow, Sharon Clark, a patient.

Dr. Cabrera was always so kind to me. If my blood pressure was to high, he held my hand and talked to me about everyday things and his family. When we finished talking, he took my blood pressure again and it was normal.

I know his family was so special to him.I wish you the best. Love, Celia

Just learned of Dr. Cabrera's passing today via a letter from his office. I've been a patient for over two years and always enjoyed my visits to his office as he always took the time to explain things clearly and listen to my concerns. He constantly talked about his family and was just a nice and super funny guy. I most recently saw him in April so this news is definitely a shock. He helped me with my heart condition and found a medicine for me that has vastly improved my quality of life. My prayers are with his family at this time.

Dr Cabrera was my doctor and my friend nearly 10 years. His great care is why I'm alive today. Words can not express how much I will miss him. I am a computer hobbiest and we always talked about computer technologies and issues with his work laptop and his kids machines as well. He was a most unpretentious man. You could say anything to him because he listened with such a kind heart. It was a great priviledge to have known him. May god bless his family in their hour of need.

To the family of Dr. Cabrera,
I just found out today about the passing of Dr. Cabrera, my husband's cardiologist. My husband, too, just passed away April 27th. Dr Cabrera saved my husband's life twice before, with his care, compassion and knowledge. Our visits with him were never, ever rushed, no matter what was going on. He spent time with my husband and chatted freely about what was happening in his life. He will be remembered fondly by my family and know that he and Larry are up in heaven chatting away. My prayers to you all. I feel your pain as well, as I miss my husband very much as does my daughter miss her father. God will give you comfort.

Dr. Cabrera was truly unique in many respects. He not only cared about and for people, he was also relate-able; he always put patients first, regardless of anything else that may have been happening.
Not only did he ask about health "stuff," it was about life he cared, too.
It's likely that, in my lifetime, I will never feel the privilege of having such a fine person as my cardiologist.
I will forever miss Dr. Cabrera.
As others have expressed: I, too, feel the shock of really losing him. He was a confidante, as well as a physician, and a fine one at that!
I am so deeply sorry for the depth of loss felt by his family, his "work" family (personnel) and all of his patients.
He made the world - and living with probs. no one signs up for - a much, much better place.
Others have noted how much he cared for his family. There is no doubt there! His childen were his pride; it came across so clearly.
I just adored him; he was THE best!
God bless you, Dr. C., and may you truly rest in peace. You are much loved and will always have a place in my heart and the heart of others.
Thank you for taking such good care of me and for caring about me.

My condolences to the Cabrera family. I have been a patient of his for 15 years. The last time we met I told him I expected his face to be the last I would see on my deathbed. He looked at me, smiled and said "You will probably be around a lot longer than I". I am at a loss as to what I will do without him helping and guiding me. He was more than a doctor to me he was the only person I know that I could absolutely call my friend.

Heartfelt sympathy to the Cabrera family at this very difficult time. I met Dr Cabrera in 1997, as a patient, and felt an instant connection. He shared many stories about his family and his love for his wife and children was apparent. Dear Cabrera Family, Please accept our deepest sympathy in the loss of a wonderful man and doctor. Dr. Cabrera was a kind and caring doctor always having time to share the joys of his children and family. We would share stories and how we would care for directing our children on the right path. Our favorite story was about the door to be replaced by one of his sons. Dr. Cabrera will be missed by both my husband and myself as we have been patients since 2003 and he always had time for us and was so kind and personable he was our friend.
May God Bless each of you and remember whenever you see a rainbow he is there with you.

My most sincere condolences to the Cabrera family. Dr Cabrera was my cardiac doctor and I considered him a close friend. I have been his patient since 1997 and my first heart attack. Now I am needing surgery and on the day of his loss he was making arrangements for an appt with him to see if my heart would be strong enough for surgery. He will be greatly missed in the medical world and even moreso in the life of those his abilities were able to save. He loved his family and we often talked of the children in school. I have met his mother when she stopped in the office to see him. May God be with you and give you blessed strength during this time of loss. We share your sorrow.

I was a patient of Dr. Cabrera. I always appreciated both his professionalism and his genuine kindness. He always took time to talk to me as a person, not just as a patient, and he always seemed to remember past conversations. His professional care always left me feeling positive and confident, even in times that were disconcerting. He was a genuinely fine doctor.
I am deeply saddened by his passing. My heartfelt sympathies go out to all his friends, family and professional staff. He will be greatly missed.

To the family of Dr. Cabrera:
I am privileged to say that I was an extern of Dr. Cabrera’s only a few weeks ago. He was very knowledgeable in his field, and I could see how much he loved passing this knowledge on to me—from taking accurate (and correct) vitals to sharing with me stories of his residency. I am grateful for the time I had with him, and am honored to have known such a compassionate, honest individual. You are all in my prayers; know that as you stand at the foot of this cross you are not alone.
God be with you.

To the family of Dr. Cabrera,
I have been a patient of Dr. Cabrera's since he first opened his office on Engle Road. He was a man of great dignity. No matter what your diagnosis, his presence was always calming and reassuring. Over the years we shared a mutual interest in finding the world's perfect umbrella, which made for lots of laughter. He was a gifted physician and had a profound affect of all who knew him. To Doctor Cabrera's Family -
My heart goes out to you all as he was a very special person. I have been a patient of his since 2004, and I always enjoyed my visits with him because he had the best "bedside manner" and always took the time to visit and find out how things were going. I've thought over the years, when I get back to Sacramento, I want to visit Dr. C. I wanted to introduce him to my kids and get caught up on his. I worked for him during the years his children were born. I will always remember his humor, like when he and my sister performed Endless Love at the open house of the Engle Road office. Thank you Dr. Cabrera for giving me the opportunity to work with you. I have learned so much. It is because of you that I was able to start an amazing life out here in Sacramento. I have met amazing people and discovered how much of a better person I can be, because of you. I wish there was something more I could have said besides the regular "have a good weekend" before I left the office on Friday afternoon. But I know you are in a better place now. So to me, this isn't a goodbye, more like a see you later! :) and say hi to my nanay up there for me.
