Meme & Jeri 1997
Jeri Cates
August 10, 2005
I first met Meme in 1997 when she was recovering from open heart surgery. She was a joy to be around and an inspiration to us all. She lived her life to the fullest by showing an example of love to everyone she knew. I'll never forget what she said on her 100th birthday when a news reporter asked her what her secret was for longevity. She quoted "I've enjoyed my life very much. Still enjoying it very much." She made a believer out of me and I will never forget her wonderful spirit.

I couldn't have asked for a better Grandma than my Meme! Every time I hear the words "For The Love Of Pete" I will remember her warm smile and excited look of having company. She instantly bonded with Jeri and became our Maid of Honor making the news on her 100th birthday. She will hold a place in my heart forever. I'm so grateful she stayed with us until her 103rd birthday. She will be missed and remembered by us all.

Me-Me,
We first met you in the early 1980s when we moved next door to your son, Bill. You were always so full of life and had a smile and a good word for everyone. You outwalked all of us when you were in your 80s and your son, Bill, his wife, Vicki and Roger and I made a trip to Canada for the World's Fair. You were still walking when you lived in their house next door. We cherish the Christmas ornament gifts you made and gave to us and every year they go on our tree. We always loved you as our relative too. Love Roger and Peggy Ringler

Dear Meme,
I have so many wonderful memories of you, that I will always hold in my Heart. The wedding picture of You and Grandpa is on my desk and it reminds me of the long and wonderful life you lived. The two things that I will remember most are that you were always happy to see me and White Shoulders.
I love you Meme, your Grandson Chris

Meme, you were my second mother and I love you dearly. You always had a smile for me and never judged me. You accepted me for myself and I will cherish those memories forever. I love you!
