Andrew Lewallyn Obituary

Andy was born March 9, 1986 to Bill and Suzanne Lewallyn, and left this Earth to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on April 5, 2018. Andy grew up in Sacramento and attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic School, graduating in 2000. Andy was not only a diligent student, but also an active participant in all the school sports, flag football, soccer, and basketball. Andy's next step was Jesuit High School, where along with his academics, he also joined many clubs and his senior year was President of the Young Republican Club. Andy was a passionate Rugby player, 4 years, and proud to be a starter on the team that won the National Championship in 2004, the same year Andy graduated with a 3.8 GPA. Andy applied and was accepted by the University of Oregon with an Alumni Scholarship and chose Political Science as his major. Andy continued to play Rugby, and like all Ducks, was a rabid fan. When asked at Christmas what he wished, it was always tickets to whatever Bowl game Oregon was playing in that year. Andy graduated in 2008. Andy returned to Sacramento where he was employed by several legal firms as a paralegal. His desire was always to become an Attorney and was accepted to McGregor School of Law. It was difficult working 40 hours a week plus attending law classes 5 nights weekly, but Andy did this and graduated in 2016. He was preparing to take the California Bar Exam when he passed away. Andy is survived by his parents, Bill and Tammie Lewallyn; his sisters, Shirley Toller (Trey), Lindsey Lewallyn (Anthony), and Jayme Harrer (Jeff); stepmother, Lynn Lewallyn; grandmother, Clare Thompson; and grandparents, Nelson Lewallyn and Marion Pace-Lewallyn. He also has 10 aunts and uncles, 13 cousins, and one niece. A viewing will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2018, from 4-7pm at Calvary Cemetery, 7101 Verner Ave., Citrus Heights, CA. The Funeral Mass will be held the following day, April 19, 2018, at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 5751 Locust Ave., Carmichael, CA 95608. A reception will be held in the Church Hall immediately following the service. Interment will take place at 2:00pm at Calvary Cemetery.

It´s difficult to think it is already 4 years since Andy died. It always makes me sad that we are not be able to have Andy in our midst. He was a special person. And lost too early in his life. Continued condolences to his family. And especially to his mother and father. The loss of a child is a most difficult cross to bear...

Andy was a beaming ray of sunshine, wherever one encountered him on Jesuit's campus and beyond. What a delightful, respectful and personable young gentleman, who exuded an unwavering "joie de vivre!" Loved having Andy as a student!

It is with heavy heart that I light this candle in honor and in remembrance of Andy. I fondly recall him during his days at Jesuit and on the rugby field. A cool kid, so kind and gentle, and thoughtful of others. Always a quick smile or laugh. I liked him. And it made me happy that he and my son, Drew, were friends. Andy, you will be greatly missed. Bless you.
