Anna "Grace" Sakurai

1930 - 2018

Born December 8, 1930 in Kilkeel, Ireland, passed away peacefully May 19, 2018 at age 87, in her home in Elk Grove, California surrounded by loved ones. Grace is survived by her son, Stephen Ingold, daughter, Barbara (Patrick) Haddeman, sister Joan (Richard) Anderson, and many cousins, nieces and nephews around the globe. Grace attended two years of nursing school before emigrating from Ireland in 1951 on the Queen Mary to be married, and lived in California for the remainder of her life. She was a mother and homemaker, later working for Bank of America and retiring after 24 years of service. She remarried in 1979. Once retired, she assisted her late husband with his driving range business, and volunteered at the Discovery Cancer Shop and Kaiser Permanente. She also loved to travel throughout the US, Japan, Canada, and the British Isles, and was an avid reader with a special interest in history. There will be a private service for her.
