Barbara Borman Obituary

Barbara Lu Borman (maiden name McEwen), 90, of Sacramento, CA passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025 loved and embraced by her entire family. Born on November 16, 1934 in Sacramento, CA, Barbara was the beloved daughter of Albert Roger McEwen and Ramona McCulloh. She is predeceased by her siblings Albert Roger McEwen Jr., Frank McEwen, Ruth McEwen, and Bonnie McEwen. She attended Sac State College where she met and married Jack Swartz in the 1950's and is survived by her three sons Joe Swartz (Kathy), Patrick Swartz (Melinda), and Pete Swartz (Peggy). She was matriarch to nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Apparently, Barbara was a "catch" as she outlasted three husbands and a boyfriend. Her last beloved husband was Thomas Borman whom she loved and cared for dearly for 30+ years and is also survived by his two children Margaret Taniguchi and Brian Borman and his four grandchildren whom she called her own. Known for her kindness, sense of humor, and devotion to family, Barbara taught P.E. at John Still Junior High School for most of her career. She especially loved coffee, sweets, watching TV (mostly murder mysteries), and the great outdoors. She was always ready with a warm hug, kind words, and a generous spirit. A memorial service will be held on November 8th at 1:00 at Capital City Baptist Church, 8050 Jacinto Rd, Elk Grove, 95758. In lieu of flowers, please pass along a kind word and a hug to a neighbor or stranger. Her dear friends and family will cherish her memory.
