Barbara Felton passed away peacefully at her home on December 21, 2020. She was survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Hilmer Felton, her two daughters, Teena Merth and Carrin Johnson, her two grandchildren, Parker Bennett and Malori Gunkel, her sister, Carol Woodbridge, and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara was born in MA, and settled as a young girl with her family in Sacramento, CA. She graduated from Grant High School. She then went on to earn an Associate Degree in the Arts, at American River College and ultimately, Graduated With Honors with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Communication from Sacramento State University. Later, she became interested in Cosmetology, and successfully earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Cosmetology. Barbara was very bright, and had a passion and commitment to education and lifelong learning.
Aside from volunteering for various community outreach projects, most of Barbara's paid work experience consisted of secretarial and legal assistance positions. She was very articulate. She was a meticulous record keeper, she excelled at shorthand, and she had impeccable communication skills, both written and orally.
Barbara lived her life artfully. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a wonderful homemaker, a master gardener, and was known as an accomplished artist throughout the art community in Sacramento. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Due to COVID19, her Celebration of Life Ceremony will be scheduled for a later date.
