September 11, 1929 - December 30, 2021
Sacramento, California - McCarty, Billie S.
Lt. Col, ret USAF
Billie Sue McCarty was born on September 11, 1929, and passed away peacefully on December 30, 2021, in Sacramento. She was born in Saluda, South Carolina, to William and Mamie McCarty.
Preceded in death by her parents and siblings-- Herbert, Glen, Bill and Flo. Survived by nephew Nick (Jeanne) Nicholson, numerous nieces and nephews, and her "adopted daughters" Regina Rao and Traci Peters, and their families.
She graduated from Winthrop University in South Carolina, then enlisted in the United States Air Force. She retired after 20 years and at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Billie enjoyed a wonderful retirement of taking cruises, going to baseball games throughout the United States, camping/fishing. She enjoyed getting together for dinners and being with close friends and her Sacramento families.
Thank you to the wonderful staff at Mercy McMahon Terrace, June's Place, who loved and cared for Billie for the past three years; also to Snowline Hospice, especially Nurse Karen.
