Bonnie Deutsch

1939 - 2025

Bonnie Patricia (Gorman) Deutsch, 86, of Cave Creek, AZ, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, from natural causes. Born on June 10, 1939, in Sacramento, CA, Bonnie lived a full and beautiful life defined by optimism, creativity, and a love of people. After graduating from Sacramento High School in 1957, she met and married James Rogers and together they raised 3 children as Bonnie fully engaged in the joys of parenting. In the 1980's, she began her career at The Sacramento Bee in General Advertising, where her warmth and professionalism left a lasting mark. In 1989, Bonnie found the next love of her life in LeRoy (Lee) Deutsch and they married and lived together until Bonnie's passing.

Bonnie's life was rich with music and motion. An avid piano player and ballroom dancer, she found joy in rhythm and companionship. She delighted in Dixieland Jazz, gathering with Red Hat Society, and playing mahjong. She found a second family within the Carmichael Elks and had a lifetime membership in the VFW auxiliary. In retirement, she and her beloved husband, Lee, traveled widely, logging thousands of miles in their RV and building treasured friendships along the way, especially in Gulfport, MS, and Cave Creek, AZ.

Bonnie is survived by her loving husband, Lee; her son, James Rogers, Jr., and her daughters, Amy Rogers-Cavender and Megan Canfield; her stepchildren Scott Deutsch, Linnae Endberg, and Lonnie Deutsch; along with her beloved 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her generous heart and the smile she shared with everyone.
