Candace Drennan Obituary

Candace Ann (Candy) Drennan, age 78, of Elk Grove, California, passed away on November 1, 2024, with her devoted husband, Don, lovingly by her side.

Born in Seattle, Washington, Candy moved to Marysville, California, with her parents, Robert and Natalie Cartwright. Her childhood was idyllic, surrounded by the love of her parents, two sisters, and an extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Known for her strong will, integrity, and fierce love for her family and friends, Candy built a life centered on her devotion to God and a commitment to those she cherished. Her church community was a constant source of strength and joy, and she treasured family traditions including holiday gatherings and summers at Capitola Beach, which became a tradition that continued with her loved ones for decades.

A graduate of the University of California, Davis, Candy returned to Marysville after college, where she rekindled her relationship with her high school sweetheart, Don Drennan. Don was the love of her life, and they married on June 20, 1971, sharing 53 beautiful years together in a bond marked by unwavering devotion, faith, and family.

Candy is survived by her loving husband, Don; her sons, Mark (Brenda) and Brian (Kristal); and her grandchildren, Jacob, Keira, Kallissa, and Brody.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 9th, at 3:00 p.m. at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church, 8701 Elk Grove Florin Rd B, Elk Grove, CA 95624, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (https://themmrf.org) to support the fight to cure this blood cancer.

Candy was my next door neighbor, twin sister from another mother (we shared the same exact birthday), fellow Christian, walking partner and very dear friend. We enjoyed looking at beautiful trees and flowers, laughing about happy events in our lives and sharing struggles by praying for each other. My life has been enriched tremendously by having her friendship. She loved her family very much and I want you to know that Jack and I wish to offer our deepest sympathy for your loss. We will see Candy in heaven someday. Love and prayers, Janet Moe Lane & Jack Lane
