Did your father, Dal Bural, teach in Fontana, Ca. in the 1960-62 period? If so, I was a student of his at South Tamarind Elementary. He was a terrific teacher who loved to read to the class his favorite science fiction stories. He read with feeling. He was one of several talented teachers who inspired me to teach. I graduated from Fohi in 1966, Chaffey Jr. College in l968, CSUF in 1970, added two M.A.'s and a Ph.D and taught American Government and Economics for 36 years here. He told us one day that he knew Dan Blocker of Ponderosa fame, and we were quite impressed. Your Dad was a great fellow and a kind man. My sincerest sympathy and prayers to you and your children. Jeff Griffith. My email address is [email protected].

Still find it hard to believe you are gone, Dad. You were such a big presence in all of our lives. You taught us many many things and now I am glad you are with Mom, that your pain and suffering has ended. The lessons you taught us will get us through these hard times. We still laugh at things you said and did...even to the very end.

Dal was my adopted father in spirit. My best friend was his daughter, the late Becky Anderson. I will forever remember him as a funny, loving and caring man. I enjoyed all of our political conversations and the many Oklahoma jokes he shared with me and memories of Becky's childhood. Whenever he heard Becky talking with me on the phone or when I would visit, he would tell me to "Go to bed." Dad now it's your time to go to bed. Enjoy your travel to the pearly gate to be with Becky and your wife. I will miss you very much.

I worked with Dal in Sacramento and played golf with him on many occasions. To this day I still smile at why he could not wear shorts while playing and I still laugh at some of the jokes he told and the stories he would relate. He was a down to earth, intelligent, and caring man. I will miss him and his sense of humor and common sense.

Dal was my boss at Getty and then again at Texaco. He was a good friend. We kept in touch over the years. I will miss him a lot but he'll never be far from my memories of him.

I worked with Dal at Getty Oil Company in the early 1980s. I looked forward to seeing him every day. I respected his knowledge, good humor and common sense. He had a unique filing system for important papers. It was a cardboard box in the corner of his office he called his "holler box". Any letter or memo he thought he might be asked about would go in the holler box. It worked like a charm. He could produce a document on demand in a matter of seconds.
