Daniel KNIGHT Obituary

KNIGHT, Daniel Beck
33 years young, passed away in his Roseville home on Nov. 11, 2010. He was born in Redwood City, California, on Feb. 15, 1977, to Ed and Colleen Knight. Danny attended schools in Durham and Chico. In his mid 20's he moved to the Sacramento area where he became a proud union iron worker. Danny loved his family, he loved his friends, and most of all, he loved his daughter Lily. He was a wonderful cook with a taste for fine food and always looked forward to feeding the people around him. He was a mountain bike rider, a snowboarder, and a camper. Every year he could hardly wait for the big family/friend camping trip to Wages Creek on the coast, where stories were told around a fire pit every night for a week as the fog rolled in and ocean waves crashed. From time to time he was a hunter and had just shot a buck opening day with his step-dad Ron (with a little encouragement and a reminder to release the safety!). He was one funny guy who got tremendous joy out of making people laugh. To know him was to love him, and for all of you who knew him, you have great stories to tell and many happy memories. He is survived by his mother Colleen Coleman, father Ed Knight, sister Heather Kavanaugh, and daughter Lily Knight. A mass and gathering will be held on Friday, December 3 at 10:00 am at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church, 566 E. Lassen Ave., Chico, 95973. *A special memorial trust has been set up for his daughter Lily Jane Knight at Sierra Central Credit Union via walk-in or mail (5175 Skyway, Paradise, 95969, 352 E. 1st St., Chico, 95928 or www.sierracentral.com for other locations.) If mailing a check, please note Trust Acct.

There was never a time you could mistake Danny's smile and the twinkle in his eyes. He was always one-of-a-kind. He lit up every room he entered, and everyone we hung out in High School will remember those times we had and look back on our time with Danny, with fond happy memories. My sincere and deepest condolances go out to his family and especially Lily, who is the spitting image of her Father. She has his smile and it is such a comfort that she has such a loving family and friends who are there for her. Danny, I thank you for every bear hug, smile and memory you gave me. We love you and will miss you forever buddy.

Danny will be missed. Although it has been years, since Kari's wedding, that I have had the pleasure of Danny's company he was one of my dearest and closest friends in high school. I know the light that he was for so many people and how much he adored his daughter. I often wondered of him and how he is. My condolences go out to his family and you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
