David Abeyta Obituary
ABEYTA, David (Davey)
Born August 3, 1943 in Denver, Colorado and passed away peacefully on May 24, 2008. He lived in Sacramento and Salinas, but spent the past 30 years in Elk Grove. He served in the US Army and was retired from the State of CA. He enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, dining, and socializing. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Josephine (Jay), and his brother Tommy. He is survived by sons David and Eric (wife Monica), granddaughters Vanessa, Angelina and Briana, sister Delores (Dodo) Lujan, brother Larry, and fiancee Delmira Rosas-Pettit. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A visitation will be held Thursday, 4pm at Sacramento Memorial Lawn on Stockton Blvd., with a Rosary at 6:30pm, and a Mass is scheduled for Friday May 30, at 11:00 at St. Rose Parish, 5961 Franklin Blvd., in Sacramento.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss. Your Dad was a nice guy and always fun to be around. He always made us kids feel very welcome and at home in your house, and I will always have fond memories of our childhood. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask.

I'm so sorry to hear of Daves passing. I just heard the sad news. I worked with Dave at Sears in the 70s and used to ride the bus home with him to Elk Grove. Dave was so proud of his family and I can tell you he talked about his life and had no regrets. He was a sweet, kind man and I will always remember him fondly.

David and Erik, Your Dad will be missed. He spent a summer vacation with us in Oakland and wanted to stay and finish high school with me. My Auntie wouldn't let him and he always talked about that. We were both so dissappointed. I can see him now, surrounded by all the family who went before him, especially Jay and Auntie. And my Mom waiting, hopefully, with a beer in her hand for a big party. I will miss him so very much and if you need ANYTHING, we are here. With all our love, your cousins in NV, Toni and Pete Giovanetti

Mr Abeyta, we're all going to miss you a lot. You were always one of the funnest Dad's to head to Folsom Lake with, or go fishing, or head to Roma's pizza with or just hang out and have beer with(as we got older) It was pleasure to know you these last 25 years and I'll miss ya
