Deborah Jeter Obituary

Deborah Marie Jeter passed away at home on September 4, 2015 in Roseville, CA surrounded by those who loved her. Debbie was born on January 21, 1958 in Oakland, CA. Growing up in Newark, CA Debbie graduated from Newark High School in 1976. After graduating high school, she immediately enrolled into nursing school to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. Debbie graduated from Ohlone College in Santa Clara in 1978 with her Associates Degree in Nursing. Debbie spent her entire life selflessly caring for others both in her nursing career and in her life. She touched the lives of so many people as a daughter, wife, mother, grandma, sister, mentor, caregiver, and friend. Debbie will forever be remembered for her gentle kindness and the unwavering love she had for her family. A devoted and respected nurse for over 35 years, Debbie worked for Kaiser Permanente hospital for the past 30 years and was always dedicated to the care of her patients. Even when battling her own chronic illness, she continued to work helping others as a patient advocate with a knowledgeable, calm, and compassionate presence at the bedside. Her warmhearted and kind nature will be missed by all who knew her. Debbie loved the holidays and spending time with her entire family decorating, baking, shopping, cooking, and preparing to host holiday meals & celebrations. She also enjoyed watching old movies, taking trips to Tahoe, babysitting her grandchildren, and eating seafood. Debbie is survived by her mother Joan Hitchcock, husband David Jeter, daughter Elizabeth Melott, son Christopher Melott (spouse Donna), daughter Laura Jeter, daughter Rachel Jeter, step son Nigel Jeter, step daughter Sara Jeter, granddaughter Yasmina, grandson Xavier, brother Mike Burford (spouse Debbie), sister Lisa Arndt (spouse Kurtis), along with her nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends and colleagues. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16th at 10:00 am at Cochrane and Wagemann, 103 Lincoln Street Roseville CA with a celebration of Debbie's life following the memorial service.

I will always remember Debbie as the person I could turn to as a new mom on my own in Sacramento, she was so generous with her time and advice, even though she was busy with two little ones the same age as mine. She has touched so many people as a mom and a nurse. She will be missed!

Debbie will be greatly missed on 1 north at Kaiser Roseville. I will miss seeing her smiling face when I come in to work. She was a great nurse and an even greater person. My condolences to her family.
