Dolores Renteria Obituary
After graduation from high school Dolores moved with her family to Sacramento, California. She met her soulmate Rodney Renteria at a USO club at Mather Air Force Base. They were married in Sacramento on November 6, 1954. After leaving the Air Force, Rod and Dee moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska and they then returned to Sacramento where they started and raised their family.
Dolores is predeceased by her loving husband and parents, siblings Beverly, Pat, and Louie. Dolores is survived by her children-Rodella Kershaw (John), Teresa Renteria, Scott Renteria (Dora), Rodney Renteria (Julia), Stephanie Rodriguez (Rudy), and John Kanae (Martina), 12 grandchildren and 9 great- grandchildren and siblings-Marlene Ono of Roseville, CA, Marilyn Jeffers of Texas, and Tom Mayer of Greensborough, NC.
Dolores worked for many different doctors before starting her career for the State of California, State Controller's Office. After her retirement she and Rod made several cross-country road trips, visiting many MLB stadiums and family members along the way. She was a diehard San Francisco Giants and 49'er fan and also enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren play their various sports. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and needlepoint. All the grandkids and great grandkids looked forward to their handmade Christmas pajamas. She loved canning pickles and salsa and was known for her famous tacos.
Her love and devotion to her family set the foundation and example to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of what true love of family is. A celebration of Dolores's life will be held on Wednesday, December 17,2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepard Catholic Church, 9539 Racquet Ct., Elk Grove, CA 95758. Reception to follow funeral service at 12:30 at Lakeside Community Owners Association Clubhouse, 3035 Maritime Dr., Elk Grove, Ca.
