Doris Hamilton

Doris Jean Hamilton passed away peacefully at the age of 73 on Thursday, November 20, 2025 in Sacramento, CA. Doris was born in Memphis TN on December 19, 1951 to her proud parents George and Mary Hamilton. Her early education was Florida Street School in Memphis TN. In 1961, she moved to Sacramento CA at the age of 10 with her parents and siblings where she completed her education. Doris graduated from Sacramento State College with a Masters Degree in Social Work and Corrections. She also obtained a Life-Time Teaching Credential. Doris moved to Richmond CA where she met her husband John Watson. Their union blessed them with two children John and Kimmeco. Several years later, Doris moved back to Sacramento to continue raising her children and working in her field of expertise. Doris' work history is varied. One of her major accomplishments was being a member of the Del Paso Heights School Board in Sacramento. She never deviated from her personal calling as a teacher, social worker and counselor. Doris was blessed with a wealth of wisdom and knowledge sought out by many seeking advice, she willingly graced others with her most valuable gift. Doris will be remembered for her love of music, giving advice, arts and crafts. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Mary Hamilton. She is survived by children, John and Kimmeco; three grandchildren, Nevaeh, Erin and John; two sisters Barbara and Phyllisten Hamilton; two nieces Malika and Dahelina Colquitt; her devoted cousin, Nathaniel and a host of cousins and friends.
