Eugene J. McGuane Jr.

1962-2015 Sacramento, CA Eugene John McGuane Jr "EJ", 53 passed away suddenly on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 at his home. He was born on January 13, 1962 in Evanston, IL to Eugene and Barbara (Bennett) McGuane. He lived with his life partner, John Dynowski for 32 years and resided in Citrus Heights for the past 15 years. EJ worked for Kaiser Permanente for close to 15 years and was recently looking to return to school to become a Phlebotomist. EJ was preceded in death by his father, Eugene J. McGuane and his wife Mary, also deceased, grandparents, Felix McGuane, Primus and Martha Bennett, Gertrude and Homer Hoyt, uncles, Stanley and Donald Bennett, aunt, Alice Collins, cousins, William and Donna Collins and Susan and Scott Bennett. EJ graduated from Springfield High School in Springfield, IL and received a BA in Socio-Psychology from Colorado State University. He was a talented musician that played electric and acoustic guitar and played with several bands over the years. He was also a great cook, music trivia expert and a dedicated Grateful Dead follower. We have lost a happy gentle soul that always kept a positive outlook on life. He dearly loved his partner John, his family, friends and his cats. EJ always ended every long distance conversation with "I love you very much". EJ is survived by his life partner John Dynowski, mother, Barbara McGuane and sisters, Lou Robisch (David) of Springfield, IL, Loreen, Hilton Head, SC and brothers, Timothy, Ontario, Canada and Brian, Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by nieces, Siera McGuane, Stacey R. Willenborg (David) and nephews, Brett (Shana) and Scott (Jill) Robisch. EJ also had 2 great- nieces, Savannah and Sophie Robisch and 7 great-nephews, Brendan, Bryce, Jacob and Griffyn Robisch and Patrick, Matthew and Owen Willenborg. Uncle, Michael Hoyt (Jean) and many cousins from both sides of the family living in Washington D.C., Chicago, St. Louis and Merrillville, Indiana also survive. EJ's family and friends are invited to gather at Rusch Park in Citrus Heights starting 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015 to celebrate his life with music, food and camaraderie. Burial will be private at a later date.
