Frank was born in Tacoma, Washington. He was the second of six children in 1930. He grew up on a small ranch during the depression and moved to Oregon after WWII. Frank enlisted in the USAF in 1951.
After Basic Training and training as a Combat Air Policeman, he was assigned to a variety Law Enforcement & Corrections duties at stations around the world. After his discharge, and a short time as a civilian, Frank re-enlisted in 1957 and was assigned to Law Enforcement duties at McClellan AFB. He attended various Law Enforcement Training Schools; California Highway Patrol, Sacramento Police Academy and FBI Explosive Ordinance.
In 1962 he was transferred to Trabzon, Turkey as the Air Police Operations and Training NCO. He returned to McClellan AFB in 1963 and held a variety of positions: Air Police Flight Commander, Training NCO, NCO Academy Instructor, Small Arms Training Supervisor, Base Parade/Ceremonies NCO and Squadron First Sergeant. During this time Frank earned his Bachelor of Science degree at CSUS. Retiring in March 1974, Frank returned to Oregon to acquire his teaching credential and taught Junior High School for five years. He then returned to California and substituted as a teacher in the Sacramento area. He also taught full-time in both Hanford, CA and the Department of Corrections in Vacaville, CA.
In 1995, Frank ended his full-time working career. He became an Elk in 1981 and has been a member of the Cottage Grove Oregon Lodge #1904, Hanford Lodge #1259, Rancho Cordova Lodge #2484 and Carmichael Lodge #2103. He was a PER of #2103 and was very active in various projects and committees. His wife Sally, of 31 Years, just accepted with honors his 40-year Elks pin.
Frank is survived by his wife Sally, his sons Frank Jr. and George and stepchildren Cathy, Jody and Stanley.
Frank passed away on January 8,2022. He was 91 years old. A celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on February 27, 2022, Sunday, 12:00 noon at the Carmichael Elks Lodge, 5631 Cypress Ave., in Carmichael.
