Frank Masterson Obituary

Frank L. Masterson of Fair Oaks, California, passed away at his home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, September 20, 2016. He was born in Bakersfield, California in 1937, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in June 1954. He was stationed in Colville, Washington, where he met his future wife Cecile, nee Mannie, Masterson. Frank and Cecile were married in 1959 and enjoyed living in the many places his career took him. They lived in Virginia, Washington, New Mexico, Puerto Rico, Wyoming, California, Texas, and Alabama, before he retired in 1975 when the family moved to Fair Oaks, California. In 1977 he began a new career with the U.S. Department of Forestry from which he retired in 1997. As one person said, "He was such a joy to be around. He had a way of brightening any room and making everyone laugh. He was such a gentle person with a huge personality." He loved people, especially his family, as well as their friends, and was loved in return. He is survived by his wife Cecile; his children: Sandi, Marci Kraatz (Dave), Lyn (Cherie), Sheila Humphreys (Hal), and Kevin (Angela); twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Otha and Roxie, his brothers Wayne and Norman, his sister Shirley, and grandson Carl Martin Gordon. He had a deep and abiding faith in God. We are going to be celebrating his life at: Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, California 95620on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Two o'clock in the afternoon.

I will miss your stories, your smile and your warm hugs. I am so blessed to be a part of your family. You were definitely my favorite uncle. Right now our hearts are broken that you aren't here, but one day there will be a grand reunion in Heaven. Where our hearts will never be broken again, and our bodies won't wear out. Until then we will continue to love one and other here and share stories about you. I love you, Dawn
