Frank Stangl Obituary

STANGL, Frank Joseph
Born June 20, 1923, in Chicago, Illinois at the age of 81, Frank passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2004, at his Elk Grove home after a courageous battle with cancer. During World War II, he was employed by Douglas Aircraft involving the building of fighter planes. He worked as an inspector for O'Keefe & Merritt (Tappan) Co. for 20 yrs. & later for Sparta Electronics involving radio broadcasting equipment. In 1946, he moved to So. California to follow Gladys Nordquist his future wife & her family & were later married in 1948. He moved his family to Sacramento in 1968 and in 2003 be and Gladys moved to Elk Grove. He enjoyed family gatherings, watching his grandchildren grow up, traveling, cars, trains, music, fishing, visiting neighbors & friends & lending a hand with home projects whether it be his own or others. He was a member of the Sacramento Chapter Coin Club & the Vasa Lodge Swedish Club. His humor & love for life, family & friends will be missed immensely. Survived by his wife, Gladys, son Jim, daughter Karen Sims, daughter-in-law Kim, son-in-law Dennis Sims, grandchildren Eric & Kristine Sims & Ryan Stangl, sister-in-law Betty Oskin, brother Robert & sister Lillian Bender in Illinois & other family members living throughout the United States. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 6th at 11:30 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 7595 Center Parkway in Sacramento. Private Inurnment at South East Lawn Memorial Park. The family suggests donations to be made to the American Cancer Society and Sutter Hospice.
