Frank Werner Obituary

Frank Jacob Werner
June 13, 1934 - February 27, 2023
Sacramento, California - Frank Jacob Werner Jr. passed away peacefully on February 27, 2023. Frank was born in Seattle Washington, in the summer of 1934, to parents Lois and Frank Werner Sr. He grew up alongside his siblings, Richard and Beth during the Great Depression. Like his mother, Frank shared an interest in education, and went on to earn a scholarship in basketball at the University of Oregon, his Bachelor's at Eastern Washington State University, and his Masters in education and administration at Whitmore College. After completing his degrees, Frank made his way to Sacramento, California, where he he dedicated 40 years to helping others in education and athletics, retiring from the Grant Union School District.
Frank was passionate in his roles as a coach, mentor, and teacher of various subjects. He enjoyed counseling and motivating students with learning and life challenges. He was a Principal, Vice Principal, as well as an enthusiast and investor in real estate. Frank was an avid reader of Westerns, and adventure novels, as well as a huge fan of football, and basketball. He enjoyed writing poetry, and sketching political cartoons. He cared deeply for his family, and is survived by his children; Lorraine, Frankie, and Jason, and was an affectionate and doting grandparent to Garrett, Audrey, Nolan, Avery, and Kaden. Frank and his wife Claudia, shared a loving life together, with common interests in travel, plays, music, movies, and spending time with their shared friendships. Frank's easy going mannerisms, with a jovial sense of humor, expressed his approach to life, and will be remembered fondly in so many who cared for him. He was deeply devoted to his family, always engaged, and taking part in each loved one's life events, dedicated to help in any way he could. He enjoyed jokes and laughter, never hesitating to laugh at himself when the opportunity arose, to everyone's amusement. Of all things, he believed that life's ups and downs were all part of the adventure, as we navigate our way through this life. His stories and legacy will live on in all who knew and loved him. Always in our hearts, our thoughts, our memories, that we carry forward within each one of us.
