Gerald Brewer Obituary

Gerald Wayne Brewer
July 24, 1948 - July 5, 2022
Denny, California - Words cannot begin to express our profound sadness as we announce the passing of our beloved Jerry, handsome husband, loving father, brother, grandpa, great-grandpa, and cherished friend. Jerry died peacefully at home July 5th, 2022, in Denny California.
Jerry was born on July 24th, 1948, in Sebastopol California to the late Margaret Hugill and Joe Brewer. He grew up between Santa Rose and Sacramento California. Jerry graduated from San Juan High School in Citrus Heights California. Jerry was a member of the Eleventh Infantry of the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War.
Jerry found his way to Denny California in the early 1980's with a dream of living a quiet mountain life, raising his family, and living off the land. He loved the spot in the mountains he called home, it was his paradise.
Jerry was an artist in so many forms, he drew beautiful pictures, played the guitar, wrote heartfelt poetry and was a storyteller. Jerry loved to laugh and was hilarious too. Many nights were spent sitting on the porch or around the kitchen table listening to his funny stories, his countless impressions and sharing fun times with family and friends.
Jerry learned the art of stone masonry and fell in love with it, he put his love and energy into every commissioned piece he built. Jerry created beautifully impressive and exceptional works of art throughout his community and beyond.
Anyone who knew Jerry would agree, he was a most beautiful human. Jerry was able to express his love and honor for you in the most deeply personal and heartfelt way. We all cherished and loved this loving energy that effortlessly flowed through Jerry.
Jerry was connected to the spirit world long before he passed, he gave thanks daily to the Great Spirit for the beauty which surrounded him that was his life, his being. Jerry was a lover of all things wild, the four legged, the winged creatures, the creepy crawlers, the stone people, the star nation, the fined ones, music, and you and me.
May we all hold Jerry in our hearts, in our memories and celebrate his life as he lived it, with love, kindness, humor, fearlessness, grace, honor, gratitude, and much respect.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife and partner of 22 years Angel Brewer, his loving sister Monie Stahlman, his brother Randy Paiva, his beautifully blended family Natasha Brewer, Rachel Brewer, Amelia Ensign (Brendan), Wren Wells (David), Eko Myers (Jeremy), Tiu Myers (Michael), Zacharij Franklin (Alya), and Orion Franklin, his grandchildren, great granddaughter, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
A Celebration of Life potluck will be held at 3:00pm on August 13th, 2022, in Denny California at the home of Jerry and Angel. Prior to Jerry's Celebration of Life, we would love for you to send us any photos and or stories of Jerry you would like to share.
