My deepest sympathy to the entire Shoemaker family. My fondest memories of Graham are from my childhood days when we lived just down the street from the Shoemaker family in Odenton, MD. I know he was deeply loved by his sisters and late brother and will be greatly missed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I was sad to hear of Uncle Graham's passing. I was truly hoping that things were going to get better for him. What sticks out in my memory are the family reunions at Aunt Sally and Polly's house. I always thought, "how quiet he was but yet had those strong shoulders to lean on." I know Mom really leaned on "them" and he was always there whenever he could be. It was always nice to see Uncle Graham and to talk to him. Before my husband passed away, he would always talk about how Uncle Graham was this quiet person and how interesting he was when talking to Patrick. He enjoyed talking to him and hearing of the "old days". I will miss him and please know that you all are in my thoughts.
Your cousin, Nancy

I must say, Shoemaker, as we all knew him at Folsom Prison, was one heck of a guy! He always made us laugh and performed his duties well.
I think I can say for all of us who knew him at Folsom Prison, he will most definitely be missed and it was a pleasure and privilege for us to know him. We are proud to know that he will rest in our Nation's most honored place, Arlington National Cemetery. May he rest in peace.

Please accept my sympathy. I was a classmate of Graham's in 61-F and spoke with him on the phone in April 2009 while visiting a relative at Rancho Murieta.

Dear Mark, Patrick and Tracey:
What fond memories I have of living across the street from you on Quail Circle. It was 1972. I met all of you for the first time when I was invited over for a piece of Tracey's 5th birthday cake. A month later I gave birth to Mark. Tracey would come over and play with Mark and help keep him company if I was busy. I think Mark thought she was his big sister. Three years later I gave birth to Michael. Your family was like our extended family. Your mother and I solved many problems over a cup of coffee. Your dad was always working in the yard. He had the most beautiful, manicured yard in the neighborhood. I was so jealous! You had a great dad! I remember his laugh, his great sense of humor, his patience and most of all how he just loved spending time with you guys. Mark and Michael loved running across the street to see The Shoemaker's. They were always warmly welcomed and I am sure they will never forget those days hanging out with all of you. I know I will never forget the good times with your family. They are cherished memories close to my heart.
My prayers and thoughts are with all of you at this very difficult time.
God Bless,
Gail (Massi) Berger
