Sacramento, California - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Hope Reyes, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her nurturing heart stopped beating and she departed this world on November 3, 2023 at the age of 94, surrounded by her children and the love of her family.
Born on September 23, 1929, Hope Reyes lived a life marked by unwavering love, compassion, and devotion to family. She was a source of strength and a source of inspiration for all who were fortunate enough to know her. Hope Reyes dedicated her life to raising seven children, instilling in them the values of love, resilience, and the importance of family bonds.
She is survived by six of her seven children, Vivian Auble, Rhonda Engellenner, Brenda Reyes, Ruben Reyes, Randy Reyes and Lori Madrigal-Vargas and their partners. She lost her beloved son Ricky to cancer when he was 37 years old. She will also be missed greatly by her 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. A mass in honor of Hope Reyes' remarkable life will be held on December 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church located at 1040 39th Street in Sacramento. Friends and family are invited to join in commemorating the life of a woman whose love knew no bounds.

I knew the family many years ago as I was friends with Rhonda in high school. My memory of Hope was she always seemed so full of grace. May she rest in peace. Condolences to her family.
