Marcola, Oregon - Inez J. Rice, (90) passed away peacefully in her home. She has now joined her husband Charles, son Halley, and many other family and friends in heaven. Inez is survived by three of her children (Charles, Joseph, and Bernita), as well as her many favorite grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at the Franklin Cemetery on 3/1/22 at 11 am. Inez was born in Sacramento CA. and resided for the majority of her adult life in the Delta, before retiring (from the RDUSD where she worked as a bus driver) with her husband in Marcola Oregon. The lovely couple was once the legendary owners of the Hood Market in the mid-'70s. Many happy memories were made in the town of Hood CA. by the Rice family. Inez would best be described as everyone's favorite mama, the world's best grandma, and fried chicken maker, as well as the overall matriarch of her family. In Inez's, later years her achievements far surpassed being the greatest cook, gardener, and card player, she was also Springfield OR. first-ever female Tyler of the Elk's Lodge #2415. Inez was the gem in her family and will forever be remembered for her sharp wit, charming sense of humor, and loving heart.
