J. Gleason Obituary

J. Patrick Gleason
June 20, 1936 - March 12, 2022
Roseville, California - Patrick Gleason, 85, passed away at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Berkeley, Ca. on June 20th, 1936. After graduating from Berkeley High in 1954, he joined the Army and served as a marine mechanic in the Baltimore area and Hawaii. Discharged with honors, Pat then attended Diablo Valley College until relocating to the Seattle area, where he married and had three children, Tony, Kathleen and Christine.
Pat pursued many different ventures in those early years, including a produce stand, manager at Safeway, and ran a successful welding business. He then embarked on a 37 year career as a welder, foreman and superintendent in the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers.
In 1979, Pat married Linda Overholt; they raised her two daughters Stefani and Diana, and their son John Patrick.
Patrick's larger than life personality, combined with his love of golf, brotherhood and community was evidenced by his many friends. He was a member of the Elks since the early 70's, and proudly served as the Exalted Ruler of the Roseville Elks Club in 2003 and 2004. He was President and Tournament Director of the Oak Grove Golf Club, as well as Parlor President of the Native Sons of the Golden West.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents Mary Creed Gleason and Joseph Gleason, his sister Marcia and brother William. He is survived by his wife Linda, children Patrick Anthony, Kathleen (Rose), Christine (Brendan), John (Melissa) and stepdaughters Stefani (Matt) and Diana (Jeff). He is also survived by his two sisters Mary Ann and Clara Barbara, 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Rest in Peace, Patrick; you are dearly missed.
