James Francis FERRARI

1930 - 2016

James Francis Ferrari, age 86, was born May 15, 1930 in Silt, Colorado. Passed away in Sacramento, California December 21, 2016. Beloved husband of Doris for an amazing 64 years and loving father to sons Ronald, Ricky, Fred and Chris. James will also be missed by his loving daughters-in-law Nancy, Sharon and Elaine and his eight grandchildren (Nick, Russ, Kristy, AJ, Greg, Cory, Jimmy and Ryan) and five great-grandchildren (Gia, Gavin, Nikoha, Gunner and Isabella). He joined the U.S. Army in 1948. His service time of 4-years in Japan focused on tracking planes with radar to keep them safe. Jim was employed at McClellan Air Force Base as an aircraft electrician for approx-imately 42 years with many achievements and awards. James was preceded in death by his parents Siria and Fiorentino, brothers Johnny and Walter, and sister Loretta. He was survived by his sisters Flo and Doll, brothers Fred and Mark, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Devoted to helping others with keeping everything fixed and running, Jim loved to get the call for help. Gardening and working in the yard was also a great hobby he was able to enjoy with his wife. James was in constant attendance of all of his kids and grand kids birthdays, recitals, games, weddings and graduations showing his loving support and enjoying every moment he could spend with his family. In his words, his family was unbelievable and amazing and he wanted the best for all of them. As the family will miss him dearly, we find comfort in knowing he is now in God's loving arms looking forward to seeing us again. The Ferrari family thanks everyone for the calls, emails, text messages and visits, all of which are a true testament to a man well loved by all who were blessed to know him! James was laid to rest at the Veterans Cemetery in Dixon, California on December 30, 2016. A memorial service for all friends and family will be held at the Temple Baptist Church (2600 Clay Street) in Sacramento on January 21, 2017 from 2-4 pm.
