1936 - 2025

Celebrating the Life of Dr. James Leslie Peck.

It is with happy hearts that we announce the graduation of Jim Peck to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the 17th of September 2025, at the age of 89, surrounded by family in a Michigan hospital after a sudden brain hemorrhage. Jim was the beloved husband of Ann Peck, the father of five children, grandfather to twelve grandchildren and lately, a cherished member of the Granbury Texas community.

Born on January 15, 1936, in Rushville Nebraska, Jim lived a life full of adventure, hunting, skiing, traveling, and dedication to church, family and friends. He lived in Florida and Arizona before serving as a dentist in the Air Force in Southern California, then spent most of his adult life in Northern California. Ever the perfectionist, he is remembered as one of Sacramento's finest orthodontists, and he put a smile on the face of thousands of people over the years. Jim was an active member & President of many organizations including the Sacramento Science Center, Point West Rotary, Sacramento District Dental Society, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, WPOS, and Kandahar Ski Club. In retirement he moved to Granbury, in part, to fulfill a dream of having his home on a lake. Jim was a hunter, a traveler, & always looking for a new idea or a way to help others. His last big adventure was to Israel in early 2025 where he got his wish to be baptized in the Sea of Galilee.

Jim is survived by his wife Ann, his children Marissa Comins (Jim), Andrea Velasquez (John), and Garrett Peck, his stepsons Jason Macktinger (Sasha) and Bryan Macktinger (Kristy), his sister Patricia Peck, his grandchildren, Kendall, Kelsey, Diego, Eliana, Trenton(Maddie), Caiden, Avery (Jesse), Presley, Nathan, Dylan, Justin and Morgan, as well as his many friends.

Jim will be deeply missed, but his love, his warm smile and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
