James Andrew Reece

1923 - 2017

7/21/1923 - 5/12/2017 It is with heavy hearts our family announces the passing of James A. Reece, 93, born in Galt, CA. Jim graduated from Galt H.S. in 1940 and enlisted in the US Army Air Corps in 1942 schooled in Aircraft Engineering in Texas. He reached his final duty station in Paris France with the 9th AF until his honorable discharge as a SGT E-5 in 1945. Jim returned home to his childhood sweetheart, Barbara Jenkins, and they were married in 1946. After 70 years of marriage, Jim leaves behind his true love, Barbara, six children: Thomas (Shari), Kathleen Nokes (Joe, dec.), Robert (Lanette), Donald (Patty), Judith Armstrong (Monte) and Deborah Paul (Mike). Grandfather to 25, great-grandfather to 42. Jim was the owner/operator of Farris Floors in Folsom, CA. for 37 years. Jim and Barbara retired to Fort Bragg, CA. where he enjoyed fishing with family and friends on his boat the "Rusty Lady." After relocating to Folsom for several years, Jim and Barbara finally settled in Meridian, ID., always surrounded by many family members and friends where he became a member of the Ten Mile Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be sent to the Meridian Care Activity Fund at Genesis Care Center: 1351 West Pine Avenue, Meridian, ID 83642-5031, which Jim loved and participated in for many years. Services are at Veterans Cemetery, 10100 N Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise, ID on Monday, May 22, 2017, 1:30p.m. Special Remembrance, Open House, Monday, May 22, 2017, 3pm - 5pm, at LDS Church, 5501 N Meridian Road, Meridian, ID.
