John Robert Ball
March 17, 1942 - February 10, 2023
Sacramento, California - John R. Ball passed away on February 10, 2023 after battling an illness. John was born on Saint Patrick's Day, March 17, 1942, and he was always ready for a party. He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Ball and Rubye Ball and his brother Ronnie Ball. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Stacey Ball, Amy Heiser and Amy Busch and sister, Susie Slappey. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Meghan, Dylan, Madilyne, Cassidy, Max and Tyler.
John graduated from UOP in 1964 and from Hastings College of Law in 1967, where he made many lifelong friends. John was a proud member of Delta Upsilon during his time at UOP.
John practiced law in Sacramento for forty years with his partners at Duncan, Ball, Evans and Ubaldi. John was honored to be a member of ABOTA.
Golf was a great passion for John and he played on the golf teams at Downey High School and UOP. Later, John belonged to Valley Hi Country Club, Granite Golf Club and Del Paso Country Club.
You are invited to a Celebration of Life on March 14 at 2 p.m. at Del Paso Country Club.

John and I had cases together over the years and one case in trial where we spent many days together. We developed a wonderful friendship over the years. He always made me smile and he was a fabulous attorney and an even better person. He is remembered with fondness and will be remembered and missed. Teri and I just heard about John´s passing. John was a fine lawyer, positive and loving guy, and always interested in catching up with his friends.

John and mother Ruby and father jo John were live long family friends and I have many memories of trips to Santa Cruz with them. Ruby introduced my parents when they were teenagers at Stockton High school. Mother Ruby saved my life in the ocean at Santa Cruz. I can still hear John's voice. Ruby was my mother, Rosie Bartlett Nordwick's best friend from childhood. We have such wonderful memories of Ruby and John and then Ruby's husband after John passed, Sam Peters. My sister, Christine and I were just talking about Johnnie last week and wondering what was going on with him and now we know. So sad such a funny kid growing up. We are sad to hear about his passing. The Nordwick family loved the Ball family and we have such wonderful memories. You all were blessed to have Johnie is your life, I can still hear his voice and his laugh.
