John Bender Obituary
BENDER, John Joseph
Son of Thomas and Myrtle (Remy) Bender, born September 9, 1924 in Seligman, AZ, died on May 16, 2009 in Carmichael, CA at the age of 84 years. A longtime Sacramento County resident and avid Oakland A's fan, John was employed at McClellan Air Force Base as a Aircraft Electrician until his retirement Jan 31, 1986. John was a member of the Masons, San Juan #732, Shriner's, Oddfellows and Scottish Rite, as well as the Eastern Star, Heber #181. In 1972 he married Bessie Remy in Roseville, CA. She preceded him in death in 1991. John is survived by his cherished stepdaughter, Rebecca L. Sealey and her husband, Richard of Fair 0aks, CA; nieces, Vicki Ballou of ID, and Leasa Gianna and her husband, Kevin of Citrus Heights, CA; nephew, Tom Bender and his wife, Evelyn of Sun Lakes, AZ; grandson, Bret A. Sealey and his wife, Sarah; great-granddaughter, Anna Joy Sealey; and many loving family and friends. John was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas E. Bender. Friends and family are welcome for visitation on Wednesday May 27 from 1-2pm with Funeral Services to follow at 2:00pm at Lambert Funeral Home Chapel, 400 Douglas Blvd., Roseville, CA on June 3, 2009 at 1:00pm. John will be reunited with his cherished wife, Bessie at Cunningham Memorial Gardens, Cunningham, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's or the American Heart Assoc.

We met John, Thru a Mutual Friend, While he was Living in Kentucky, He was a fine man and a true Gentleman, we consider are selves Lucky to have known him, and blessed to call him our Friend, Steve and Sharon Morse of Illinois

I knew Broiher John from McClellan AFB and
the Fraternity. Although I hadn't seen him in years;I still remember him vaguely. Sorry to hear of him passing.
