John Parmley Obituary
February 9, 1954 - July 6, 2025
Sacramento, California - John Michael Parmley, age 71, of Sacramento passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025 at home after battling a debilitating illness for months.
He was born February 9, 1954 in Antioch, CA, the son of Emmert and Billie Parmley.
John is survived by his daughters Amanda and Kelly of Sacramento; two brothers James, Antioch, CA and William, Oakland, CA and four grandchildren Skyler, Jackson, Emma and Evan.
He was preceded in passing by his parents and his sister Penny.
John graduated from Antioch High School in 1972 where he excelled in academics and played catcher on the Varsity Baseball Team. He attended CSU Sacramento graduating with a BA in Business in 1976.
He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union and retired from United Parcel Service after 35 years of employment.
John enjoyed camping, hiking, photography, bird watching, motorcycle riding, biking and star gazing. He was an avid sports fan following his favorite teams: Oakland Athletics, Sacramento Kings and Sac State baseball, football and basketball.
Heartfelt thanks to John's caregivers Delia, Yadira and especially Claudia who held everything together with passion, love and humanity.
John donated his body to UC Davis School of Medicine.

I just heard of John's passing. I knew him through his Dad and always enjoyed his visits and our talks. He'll be missed.

john and I sat near each other through many high school classes. Things were alphabetical back then and my maiden name is Prejza. John was highly intelligent. A handsome fellow who put up with a lot of nonsense from our crazy gang.
I´m sorry the end of his life was not pleasant but happy to learn he had lots of loving care. Rest in peace, John. My deepest condolences to all who knew and loved him.

I went to school with John from the third grade at Fremont Elementary school through AHS, Class of 72. He was always such a nice guy. I was sorry to hear of his passing. My deepest sympathy to his family.
