Jose Unsiog Obituary


UNSIOG, Jose Nededog
Born on April 1, 1919, in Agat, Guam, to loving parents Bonifacio and Maria. Passed away on June 21, 2008, in Roseville, Calif., at the age of 89. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy for seven years, earning eight Bronze Stars and was also a WWII veteran. He was a distinguished Deputy Director for the Government of Guam Labor Dept. for 15 years. Jose graduated from the University of Tampa with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and was one of the founding members of San Roke. He was highly regarded as a great friend, advisor, and role model to many. Jose is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Soledad Torres Unsiog; son Robert Unsiog; daughters Jessica Navarro, Deborah Unsiog, and Eileen Gray; sister Isabel Guevara; grandchildren Joseph, Cierra, Robert, Angelique, Brianna, Bryan, Kristyna, Salena, Arianna, Sara, James, Corina, and Anthony; great-grandchildren Kaliyah and Destiny; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Unsiog Family would like to thank all the caregivers, and a special thanks to all the family and friends for their love and support during this time. Especially, the Guamanian Community Club of Sacramento for their kindness and generosity. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2008, at 5:00 p.m., with a vigil to follow at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, June 27, at 12:00 noon. Both services will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4325 Don Julio Blvd, North Highlands, CA, 95660.
