I considered myself a long distanced friend of Joe's. We shared our great interest in the history of pro football and hockey. He helped me tremendously in increasing my knowledge of the history of football in particular. Although we never met in person, I enjoyed our phone conversations which I will miss. Joe was always very willing to share his knowledge with those that were eager to learn. My condolences to his family. He will be missed by all who knew him. Pete Marchant, Buffalo, N.Y.

In deepest sympathy and caring to Joe's family. We have known Joe since our growing up years in Ironwood and school days in St. Ambrose grade and high school. He will be missed. May God heal your hearts as only He can.

"I first spoke with Joe in 1983 when I was the Chief Statistician of the Canadian Football League. I was always amazed at what he knew about our League, and how much he cared for our game. We all miss him a great deal."

Our sincere condolences to the Cronin family. I have been friends with Joe since we meet in kintergarden. We attended St Ambrose schools in Ironwood, MI. from grades 1 thru 12 and have kept in touch all these years. He was truely a wonderful person, father and friend to everyone he knew. Joe had a encyclopedia of the sports world in his head plus all the memorabilia to go with it. I will sure miss him as a true friend.

Joe was and I hate referring to him in past tense...a SUPER guy! Loved sports and truly a good and nice man. Other than his wife and family, I think Joe loved media guides and old yearbooks as much as life itself! Joe, you have a permanent entry in the Sacramento Kings media guide forever!

Joe was one of the nicest men I knew. He was a joy to meet in all the press boxes in which I worked. His knowledge of sports and his love of media guides will be sorely missed.
