Joseph Enos Obituary

ENOS, Joseph Andrew April 26, 1927 - September 20, 2014 Joe Enos, lifetime resident of the rural Delta community of Walnut Grove, died peacefully in his home September 20. He was 87 years old. Mr. Enos was co-owner/operator of the family business for 25 years, Tony's Place; the legendary Delta bar /steakhouse and later founded Joe Enos & Associates Realty, serving Walnut Grove and the surrounding communities for 5 decades. Long considered the 'unofficial mayor" of Walnut Grove, Mr. Enos' personal commitment to make the community a better place to live, work and raise a family never waned. Among his accomplishments and activities were: the Walnut Grove Homeowners and Merchants Association, the construction of a public dock, the recreation of Marty Stanley's "Boon Dox" oil painting as a public mural, Reclamation District Trustee and Fire Commissioner for 30 years. Mr. Enos lived a life committed to physical fitness and athletics. He established the "Pump House" fitness center in Walnut Grove, exercised daily and volunteered countless hours as a coach, referee, umpire, member of the football chain gang and mentor to the youth. Joe Enos is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 59 years, Pat; his loving children Ron (Tami) Enos and Stacy (Phil) Benson; three grandchildren: Brianne (Sean) McClerkin, Andrew Enos and Patrick Benson; and two great-grandsons: Hudson and Judah McClerkin. A memorial service to celebrate Joe's life will be held Thursday, October 2, 3:00pm at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Walnut Grove. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Walnut Grove Volunteer Fire Department or St. Anthony's.

To Pat and her lovely family,
What an adventure knowing Joe. We go back 61 yrs, I guess, when Pat and Joe first met.Over the years their family flurished, along with Joe's Delta projects. The Delta and Walnut Grove will miss him, as well as those he served well. Aloha from the Weinzheimer Family, past and present.

It is with sadness I learned of Joe's passing.....there are so many kind and generous things Joe did that were often behind the public scene. He took me by the hand, gave me support and confidence to approach entering his field of real estate. I was privileged to work for and with Joe for many years, he was always sharing his knowledge, experience and love of the business with others. We always did things his way ..... but he was usually right on, but at least he was confident enough to listen to others as well. All he did was truly from the heart and he loved his family so deeply, his community had his blood pumping through it ......I will always remember his birthday bash and how pleased he was with the event....please know we all feel sadness right now. I will cherish the time he had to help me in my career....the world will miss him so much! Please accept my condolences ....but what a wonderful life you have all had with such a colorful character....Shirley Roberts

To The Enos Family. My name is Bill Pallesen I lived in Walnut grove from 1933 till 1942 when we moved to Lodi. I remember Joe as a young boy and thought what a nice guy he is. I got to know Tony as well and enjoyed eating at Tony's. I wanted to stop sometime to visit with Joe but never got around to it. My best wishes and thoughts to the family. Bill Pallesen
