Juanita Gutierrez Obituary
EDCOUCH- Juanita Rodriguez Gutierrez, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025, at the age of 89 at her residence in Edcouch surrounded by her family. Born on May 23, 1935, in Galeana, Nuevo León, Juanita lived a life rich in faith, love, and dedication to her family.
A devout Catholic, Juanita attended St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus Church in Edcouch whenever possible, finding solace and community in her faith. Her commitment to her beliefs was matched only by her passion for gardening. Juanita's green thumb allowed her to cultivate beautiful plants, filling her home and heart with the vibrancy of nature.
Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, Prajeres Gutierrez, Sr.; parents, Felix and Maria Isabel Rodriguez.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Rosalva Gutierrez, Frances Ramos and Prajeres Gutierrez, Jr. Juanita is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and sister, Carmela Quiroz.
Viewing will be held Friday, May 9, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Chapel in Edcouch. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St Theresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church in Edcouch. As per Juanita's wishes she will be cremated at a later date.
Though Juanita's presence will be deeply missed she will forever remain in our hearts and memories, where her spirit will continue to bloom as beautifully as the gardens she tended with such care.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dr. Joseph Conde and staff at Serenity Funeral Chapels located on 1401 E. Santa Rosa Ave Edcouch, Texas 78538.
