Karen HEARL Obituary
HEARL, Karen
Karen (Van Steenwyk) Hearl, 74 of Lincoln, CA entered heaven on 9/2/13. Born in Minneapolis, MN on 5/1/39, she graduated from East High, Rockford, IL and received a BSN degree from North Park College, Chicago. Karen married Alan Hearl on 8/25/62 and dedicated her life to serving others as a much loved wife, mom, grandma, nurse, mentor, speaker, and friend. She had a real heart for women's ministries and sharing the love of Christ. Karen is survived by husband Alan, sons David and Tim, and grandchildren Kirsten, Brock, Will, and Beckett.
A Celebration of Life service will be held this Saturday, Sept. 7, 10AM at Bayside Church in Granite Bay, CA with a reception immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up to support Karen's favorite ministries. Please direct gifts to the 'Bayside Church Memorial Fund' in Karen's name.

My brother, Ross, told me of Karen's passing. What I will remember Karen for is her unwavering strength and merciful grace. Our junior high group back in the day at Anoka Covenant was (to say the least) impetuous and lively. Karen didn't give up on us and modeled how Godly women stay the course. Pastor Hearl and Karen loved people - and to this day - decades later - their Godly and transparent influence has made a difference in my life.
My deepest sympathy to the family. Mom (Lois Peterson) sends her love and sympathy as well (dad passed into glory last year).
