To the Mulderrig Family: These are great photos and the way I will remember Kevin. He had a strange(?), zany sense of humor. Cherish your fond memories. With sympathy, from Jo Ann Tahara (Retired SPD)

Dear Clara, Eileen, Mike and Pat: We have just returned from being with the little boys in FL and just received the note from Eileen telling us of Kevin's passing. I am so sorry. He was a good and decent man, and I will always remember his kindness and patience with me when I was a pesky little kid hanging around he and Clara when they were dating, as well as a warm and caring friend through my adult years. My thoughts, love, and prayers go out to you all. I know he is up there with the family who has gone before, and I have asked Kerry to go and give him a big hug to welcome him to heaven along with all the many family members there waiting for him with open arms. With much love,

Denis and Moira McGrath

I didn't know your dad, Eileen, but I pray for you and your family to have the comfort that only the Lord can give. It's been 11 years and I still miss my dad! Love to you.

My heartfelt prayers go out to our family and their friends during this time of mourning. My (other) favorite Uncle Kevin was by all accounts a great man, just as his brothers and sister. They are still pillars of the community to which they served and will continue to be so in the Here-after within the company of our Loved ones who have gone on before us. I hope to live up to their standards and be worthy of the name Mulderrig.

p.s. (3rd of January) Happy Birthday Dad! I'm sure you're glad to see your little brother again.

Kevin had a smile that would light up the whole room. Being his friend made you feel special.
What a Grand Irishman.
What a Grand Friend.

What a sad day it is, when you look in the obits, and you see a familiar face, smiling back at you. I knew Mr. and Mrs. Mulderrig in a most indirect way, (I worked at the dental office they went to for years.) They were the kindest, sweetest of people, always. Well, Mr. Mulderrig was Irish....so that explains a lot, right there. Being that my mother's maiden name was Burke, I understand how special it is to be born Irish. I will never forget his loving care for his son-in-law, Rick. Eileen knew, in those efforts, what a special father she had. The Mulderrig family are special people, that's for sure, and there's a special place in Heaven for the Irish.....or so my mother always told me. God bless the Mulderrig family.

Fondly, Rosie

Kevin was my oldest and dearest friend. We often played sports at Grant Field, the public park across the street from our respective homes.
In his youth, Kevin had a pet shepherd dog, Tommy. He was one of the most friendly and loyal creatures that God ever put on the face of the earth.
Kevin and I once rode on his motorcycle to Camp Miniluta, a girls summer camp in the Sierra foothills. It was an unauthorized surprise visit with one of the camp counselors. Her name was Carol Backlund. Carol subsequently married my brother, Jim.
I have numerous childhood and teenage stories about Kevin.
Kevin was a member of my wedding party and the godfather to my daughter, Patricia, in 1960.
Kevin was a good man and a significent part of my life and I will miss him deaarly.

Kevin and I were friends long ago -- The St. Francis Grammer School Graduating Class of 1950 has lost one of it's Stars.
He was a nice boy who grew into a nice man.
Rest in Peace, old friend.

Kevin you will be missed. I remember so much from the days I'd spend at the house on 21st st. With your mom and dad. I remember as a kid I'd see you on your SPD motorcycle and you always had a few minutes to say hi. Plus the gatherings where you your brothers and your dad would take us back with Irish music and dancing the jig. I am so glad I got to be a part of that and you and your brothers and Sister
Patricia. Save a seat up there; the Burke boys aren't too far behind.

I have known Kevin throughout my life. When we visited my grandparents, Mae and Ed Burke, he would inevitably pull out his squeeze box and begin a Celtic tune. So many memories. Kevin was a great man , with integrity and love of family. He will be missed.

Clara & Family, I grew up in the culdesac with your family in the 1960's. I respected Mr. Mulderrig so much, admired the strong family man that I saw...My husband served with him on the PD as well as my brother. I'm so sorry for your loss, I imagine my dad & he are putting together a golf game right now...May God's Promise of Eternal Life bring you His Comfort, Peace and Strength.

To all of you:

We are so sorry for your loss. Kevin was a wonderful man and we know a great husband and father.

Larry really enjoyed working with him in the neighborhood association over those years of fighting with the SAC City Council, etc. We both enjoyed knowing him from church, the kids' school years, etc.

We know that each of you has special memories and fun times to share and we are sure you'll all be sharing them often.

We wanted to be there for Kevin's service, but we have another service that day right at the same time. You will be remembered in our thoughts and prayers on Saturday, though, and not forgotten.

May God be with each of you as you are going through this difficult time and feeling of loss.

I have known Kevin for over 40 years. I worked for him at the Sacramento Police Department. What a wonderful gentleman. He was always fair, and always had time for his staff. We ended every day with a few minutes of jokes, which was a bright light at the end of every workday. Kevin will be greatly missed by all. My sincere sympathy to his wife Clara, his children and his grandson. May he rest in peace.

Daddy, You were always bigger than life to me. It seemed there was nothing that you couldn't, or should I say wouldn't do. You showed your love for your family by your actions. Thank you for always being there for me when I needed help with Rick. You helped me countless times when we needed you the most. Until we see each other again, "May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of His hand." Love you Daddy, Eileen
