Kingman TUNG Obituary
TUNG, Kingman, M.D.
Kingman Tung lost his four-year battle against lung cancer on October 31, 2012, at Methodist Hospital, Sacramento. Born on February 11, 1957, to an esteemed medical family in Guangzhou, China.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Judy; his daughter, Alecia (20); and son, Manson (15).
While in China, Kingman graduated from the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Medical University and served as a surgeon at the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital. To pursue his dream for freedom, he came to America in 1985. With passion and perseverance, he became a family practitioner and served the Sacramento community with both Western and Eastern medicine for 18 years.
Friends are invited to attend the Wake, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, November 9, 2012, with additional visitation 2:00 PM Saturday, November 10, 2012, followed by the Service at 3:00 PM at the GEORGE L. KLUMPP CHAPEL OF FLOWERS, Riverside Boulevard and 2nd Avenue. A reception will immediately follow the service.
In accordance with his final wishes, Kingman will be cremated and his ashes will be brought to China where he will rest in peace aside his father at the Guangzhou China Permanent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Kingman Tung M.D. Award for Academic Achievement and Exceptional Character at Sacramento Country Day School. Contributions can be sent directly to SCDS at 2636 Latham Dr., Sacramento, CA 95864-7198, Attn: Wendy Ross (www.saccds.org).

Judy, Alecia and Manson,
I am so very sorry for the loss of Dr.Tung. I was so happy with the care my mother, Carol McKee received while under his care. I remember how he always made it to Alecia's Kindergarten activities and was so supportive of her academics. Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of this great man. We're sorry to hear about the passing of Dt. Kingman Tung. He was our mother and father's (Frank and Jean Fong) primary care physician and we felt so comfortable knowing that our parents had the best care. He was passionate and caring. While our father was in hospice and whenever we called Dr. Tung or paged him after hours, he ALWAYS returned our telephone call in a timely matter. Our mother is 101 years old now and we know because of you and your staff, that is one of the many reasons why she is still alive and doing well. Your loss will be our loss as well. Our deepest sympathy to your family.

I can see the warmth, kindness and love in Kingmans photo. He was so handsome and I am sure he will be shining that beautiful smile to you always.
