Kou MOUA Obituary
MOUA, Kou
Kou Moua, age 35, passed away on March 12, 2010 in his home in Rio Linda. Kou was born in Laos on February 4, 1975. He made U.S. his home on March 1, 1985. Kou received his Bachelor of Arts in Social Work in 2002. He worked as a Senior Social Worker in Yolo County, where he provided assistance and guidance to many families in need. Kou was a leader in the Hmong Community and was an Educator Member of the Moua United International Council, Inc. Kou was a dedicated and loving husband and father. Family and friends remember him as a kind generous person with a ''heart of gold.'' Kou is survived by his wife, Pa Lack Lee; daughter, Maipaluku Moua; and two sons, Chenkou Moua and Zakou Moua. 24 hour visitation/viewing and memorial services are scheduled for 3/26/10, 3/27/10, & 3/28/10 at MoonSun Memorial Services, 8573 Morrison Creek Drive, Sacramento, CA 95828. Flowers (white flowers requested) may be sent to MoonSun Memorial. Graveside services will take place at 1:00 PM on 3/29/10 at the Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum, 7101 Verner Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95841.

What´s up Uncle Kou. It´s your nephew Kenji here. It´s been awhile but I still think about the times where you held me when I was a kid and you were crying. Your love for us and in your career field... I can still remember and feel it to this day. We weren´t raised the best and everyone didn´t care for us but I still remember that moment with you even though I didn´t understand anything. As an adult now... I still think about you and the stories my dad told us.

I sit on his dedication bench all the time at the west Sacramento office. Such an honor to share a little space with such a treasured human although I´d not met him while on this earth. Perhaps another time we shall meet

I bet you guys had a big welcoming party for mom (I'm sooooo jealous).
It's been a whole month that I have not heard mom's voice and 6 days since she left us to be with you guys. I miss her so much I still can't process everything yet, but I know she is safe and well with you. There is not one word on this planet to describe the pain of missing you guys.

It is still winter but this year, it hasn't been very cold. Today is almost 70 degrees. The weather has been very nice but we need some rain. So far, it has probably rained for only two days.

Dear Daddy,
We celebrated the Fourth of July at our home. We ate BBQ ribs, chicken, sausages, sticky rice, Thai chili dipping sauce, watermelon, ice-cream, cake,and lots of Mexican-style corn. Mommy also made some pink lemonade for us. Although it was a very hot day (over 100 degrees), it was fun because the kids played water gun and water balloon fights. Also, they stayed cool by playing in the water sprinkler. At night, everyone enjoyed the sparkling fireworks. Chenkou and Zakou got to burn their firecrackers at the end. They wanted to save the best for last! Although it was a fun day, we still missed you dearly. Our thoughts are always on you. Happy Independence Day, Daddy. We miss you and love you always.

Dear Daddy,
We visited you and had picnic with you on father's day. Auntie Carol, Uncle Kong, and Lance were over visiting from Minnesota. They also visited you and had picnic with you. Grandma Lee, Uncle Yee, and Auntie Macy attended the picnic as well. It was a beautiful day. After eating, the guys played a little football. We had a nice father's day with you. Dear Daddy,
We went to Gibson Ranch yesterday and we took the turtles there too. Remember we bought them in China Town Los Angeles 6 years ago? You bought them for Chenkou when he was two. They were so tiny then, maybe the size of a quarter. Well, they're really big now. They are size of two fists put together.
At Gibson Ranch, we spent the day fishing. We used corn and worms as bait but we weren't able to catch anything. Oh well, maybe we will have better luck next time.
As usual, we wish you were with us and we miss you very much. However, we are comforted with the thoughts that you are always there to watch over us and guide us. We love you and always will.

Dear Daddy,
We celebrated Christmas. We put up a little Christmas Tree and had a Christmas party. Uncle Sy dressed up as Santa Claus and gave every kid a present. Everyone laughed and had fun. Mommy and our aunties made a traditional chicken noodle dish and jelly drinks.
For Christmas, we got some presents. Maipaluku got some DVDs and a sewing machine (she's really into sewing now); Chenkou got a scooter and a pogo stick; and Baby Zakou got a scooter and a Raiders helmet with football gear.
We made a Christmas tree for you. Daddy, we love you always.

Dear Daddy,
We stayed up all night on New Year's eve to celebrate 2013. We all shouted and counted down from 10 to the stroke of midnight. Although we celebrated the arrival of the new year, in our hearts, our thoughts were still on you. We love and miss you very much. Dear Daddy,
We just went to the zoo. We took Grandma Lee and Grandma Moua with us. At the zoo, we started at the reptile exhibit and ended at the primate area. It was a very hot day, close to 100 degrees. To cool off, we all had a slushie during our tour. The slushie came in a variety of flavors: blueberry, watermelon, cherry, and tiger's blood (don't worry, it wasn't really tiger's blood--it was just deep red in color and had a fruity flavor). Although, we enjoyed looking at the animals, we really really miss you. In our hearts, we know you are always with us. Daddy, we love you so much and think about you all the time. We love you always.
