Larry Gene "Woody" Wasson

Larry Gene "Woody" Wasson, most recently a resident of Reno, Nevada, passed away at the age of 76 on October 27, 2015. He was born In Union City, Indiana on July 28, 1939 to Elmer and Merle Wasson. He became the eldest of three children due to his eldest brother, Stanley Jason Wasson's passing on September 7, 1955. After graduating high school he worked for Micro Electric Wave Company and then joined the army where he had met and married Marianne Crystal Ursula Wendt In Manhelm, Germany on December 14, 1962. Larry completed his tour of duty in the Army and returned home to the states residing in New Jersey. He then worked for the government at Fort Monmouth and Monmouth College. Larry then found his way to Sacramento, California and started a business with a friend. It was called High Power Software. At this time he met his life partner of eighteen years, Gloria Napoletano Godfrey. Larry had a love for entertaining with family and friends. He loved watching Jeopardy, was very competitive and loved playing cards and dominoes, he had a big passion for trains, and loved to travel whenever he could. He has been to places such as Germany, Italy, India, Africa, and has been to every state in the USA but one. Larry is survived by three daughters: Heidi L. (husband Mike) Derickson, Debbie R. (husband Anthony) Tantarelli, and Connie L. Wasson of Sacramento, California; three grand-children, Vann Derickson, Michael Tantarelli, and Matthew Tantarelli ; and his two brothers, Denver Wasson and Chester Wasson. Larry was a kind, gentle and generous soul; he gave away a scholarship fund every year. Larry touched the lives of many. He was loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who was fortunate to have known him.
