Linda Cousins Obituary

Linda Cousins
November 26, 1948 - July 13, 2023
Sacramento, California - Linda was born to Lawrence and Mary Cousins in Sacramento, California at thanksgiving time. There was joy and abundance that year. She showed leadership qualities at a young age as she led the way for her twin brother Larry to be born.
Linda worked for 40 years at various positions for the state of California. She also volunteered at the Dixie Land Festival and for the Salvation Army for many years. During her activities she was able to make many friends and more importantly keep them for a lifetime. She always kept in close contact with friends and family, some friends dating back to early school years. If numbers of friends determined wealth then she was a very wealthy woman. The family thanks them all for their eagerness to help during her last months. With their help we were better able to carry on.
She will be sorely missed but her light will shine on through those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her sister Sharon Cousins Kitchen.
She is survived by her brother Larry (Mila) Cousins of Sandpoint ID, niece Laura Cousins Anyanwu of Sacramento CA, nephew Bill (Jeanne) Wood of Valencia CA, nephew Scott (Bobbie) Clawdus of Burbank WA, and many dearly loved first cousins.
At her request she will have a burial at sea with her sister Sharon in San Francisco Bay. The service will be September 27, 2023.
Donations in her memory can be made to the Salvation Army Family Services - 3213 Orange Grove Ave, North Highlands, CA 95660.

I have known Linda since high school. She was two years ahead of me. She became like family to my sisters and myself right after high school. I loved her like a sister and we had many great times together along with my oldest sister Sue. Linda was so much fun to be around and could make you laugh even when you were suffering inside of a loss of your own. She had a heart of gold. She will be missed deeply but she will always be in my heart and thoughts forever.

What a special person Linda was! A tough exterior but a generous and kind person on the inside. I was lucky to call her my friend. I will miss her quick wit and friendship every day!

There are no words to soften the pain of this loss, but Linda´s family are in my prayers.
