November 6, 1946 - February 5, 2025
Sacramento, California - Luis M. Cid passed away on February 5, 2025, at the age of 78, with family by his side. Born in Sacramento, CA on November 6, 1946, Luis was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Clara Cid, and brother, Armando. He is survived by his siblings Robert, Freddie, Clara Elva, and Olga, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who will miss him deeply.
Luis joined the United States Army after leaving Sacramento High School, earning his GED and served his country proudly during the Cold War. After his honorable discharge in 1972, he moved to Los Angeles, to work and travel extensively. Despite his travels, he returned to Sacramento, where he worked at Blombergs for over 30 years, retiring as a glazier. Luis was known for his honesty, generosity and passion for fishing and hunting, which he shared with family and friends.
Luis's adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors will be cherished by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, good sportsmanship, and deep connections with family and friends.
We welcome those who knew him to join us for services on Saturday, March 1, 2025, starting with a vigil at 9:00 a.m. followed by mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery 6509 Fruitridge Rd, Sacramento 95820 with burial and reception to follow. Flowers may be sent to St. Mary's Cemetery on February 28th by 4:30 p.m.
